Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Topcoat - £5.99 |
I didn't paint my nails for the whole of January, and whilst choosing a polish to (finally) use earlier on,
I was reminded of this little gem, and decided to share it with you!
I picked up this topcoat a couple of months ago, as I had never tried a fast-drying topcoat before, but didn't really want to splash out on the Seche Vite at £9, so I tried the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri instead, for £5.99. Honestly, looking back, there isn't much of a difference in price, but I guess I wanted something to be able to compare Seche Vite to when I do finally give it a go.
So far, I'm incredibly impressed with it. The formula hasn't thickened, (one of the main complaints I hear about Seche Vite), and it really does do what it says on the bottle! I use this every single time I paint my nails now, and it completely eradicates the fear of a dent, or a smudge. I simply pop this over the top of my polish, and go about with my day as normal. It really does dry nails super quickly, and leaves a beautiful shine that lasts until you remove your polish.
However, I wouldn't recommend applying another layer of polish on top of this, say to dry a first coat of colour before applying another, as I've found that polishes don't sit that well on top of it. (Which is understandable considering it's a 'top' coat!)
I've just had a quick look on the Boots website, and the picture shown for this product also has 'anti-chip' written on the bottle, so I think they may have changed the formula since I got mine.. and I may have to give it a whirl, as my nails do tend to chip a little bit.
As I haven't yet tried Seche Vite, I can't say whether I'd recommend this over it or not, but if you're looking for a slightly cheaper fast-drying topcoat, then this may be the one for you - and judging by the reviews on Boots - Sally Hansen comes out on top!
Thanks for reading, and I'd love to hear what you think down below! :)

Sally Hansen for me is one of the best nail brands overall - the formula of the nail polishes is incredible and the care products really do work! :o) Xx

Oh good! I probably won't give it a go in that case then! :) ..Now I just need a good base coat! x
DeleteOh! I'm actually using the Seche Vite right now and while I absolutely love it, it does tend to dry out and thicken up. I'll definitely have to try this out and compare them!

I'd love to hear how you find it! :) x
DeleteSeche Vite is fantastic however mine has turned into a gloopy mess and I still have roughly 50% left, it's pretty much unusable in the condition it is in. As good as it is I find it really irritating and will be buying this Sally Hansen one next to try.

You could always add a few drops of nail polish remover into the bottle, that can help thin it out again so you can finish it!
DeleteI hope you get on well with Sally Hansen :) x
I have been seriously considering purchasing a 'top coat' product but didn't really know which one to get, you're post has been a great help, off to Boots tomorrow. :-)
