Little White Lines

White eyeliner is possibly one of the most overlooked 'staple' products out there. Most brands offer them in some variation, but I always see loads left on the shelves - why aren't people using them more?
I recently picked up this lovely MAC eyeliner in shade 'Fascinating' (read: white), and I've been using it for just about everything.

One of it's main uses, for me, is to help my eyebrows to stand out more - not to mention, look a million times neater! It's ever so useful at disguising any hairs which may need plucking, and makes them look like they've just been neatly shaped. I find this works best after they've just been tinted, as the contrast is a little more noticeable. If you're after sharp, neat edges, I cannot recommend this enough!
I draw a line right underneath (and sometimes above) my brow, and carefully blend it in using a Real Techniques Detailer brush. I believe it's more effective than using a highlighter underneath, as it looks a lot more natural as there's no shimmer present at all.

Surprisingly, the one thing that I don't use it as.. is an eyeliner. I already have quite large, round eyes, so using this makes me look a little too open-eyed! However, if you're looking to make your eyes look bigger and brighter, then this is definitely the way to go.
Either simply line the inner corner to look more awake, or use across the waterline for a wide-eyed look.
One method which I am yet to try, is creating a thick line across my eyelid, and using black liner to create a thinner line near the lashes. I have seen this method used a few times in the past, and it always creates a lovely bright look, without making the eyes look any larger.

Another idea? Dab a little bit on your cupid's bow and blend it out to give your lips more shape.

Even on my super pale skin, it's such a bright white - a super pigmented eyeliner! It's such a soft product, so is gentle on the delicate eye area, and is also quite long-lasting on the skin. If you're feeling experimental, then give this a go! It's earnt itself a permanent place in my make up bag, for sure.

Thanks for reading, and I'd love to hear what you think down below! :)

  1. I have a white Rimmel eyeliner that I bought as part of my Halloween costume last year. I started using it to brighten my eyes for a while but I always forget how useful it is for other things, so thank you for this!

    1. I have to admit, it can look a little strange on some people, but if used correctly it can make such a difference! :) x

  3. I've been using an eye liner similar to this on my water line but it is a bit closer to my skin colour and always helps my eyes look bigger and more awaken. But what a great idea to use it as a highlighter and round the eye brows!

  7. That is such a good idea to use it above and below your eyebrows!! I don't know why I haven't thought of that before. I do love using it on my cupid's bow...it's crazy how the smallest things can make the biggest difference!

    Thanks for the tips :))

  8. I used to use white eyeliner on my waterline all the time to make my eyes look bigger, but I've recently switched to a nude. I just may bust out my old white one for some eyebrow work, though! Thanks so much for sharing, Amy <3

  9. I much prefer nude eyeliners for the same purpose! They look a bit more natural, less harsh! My favorite one is from rimmel scandal eyes!
    But the swatch looks beautiful!

    1. I would have never even thought of that! I have a feeling nude may be too dark for me though as my skin is so pale anyway - but I'll definitely give that a go, thank you! :) x
