A Bit of a Breather & a Nugget of Advice

You've heard it all before, a blogger completely loses all motivation and seriously lacks ideas -
so they go on a bit of a break.
I've done exactly that, and I feel so much better now as I've had a lot of time to reflect.

I was beginning to become a little more picky with what I posted on here, and began deleting things which I'd put quite a lot of time and effort into.. hence why my second video is no longer on YouTube, haha! Whilst I do want things I put on here to be enjoyable to read, and show that I've worked hard, I think I need to stop comparing myself to other people, and worrying about what I create.
I'm still trying to find my place amongst the other bloggers, and it really is difficult to not get caught up in other people's work, and then think negatively about your own.
This blog is mine, and the content on here needs to represent me.

I feel like this applies to a lot of other bloggers as well, as I see so many recycled ideas floating around,
originality seems to have completely gone out of the window in some cases.
That crazy idea you had for a blog post? Give it a whirl! What have you got to lose?

So my words of advice for you all:

Don't change for anybody - nobody wants a carbon copy of another blog -
find your own path and stick to it, as 'something a little different' will attract new readers -
experiment a little - and be confident in what you do!

In other news -
Peter is going to the vets tomorrow to be neutered, so fingers crossed for that little guy! I'm planning a little post about him soon, I mean who doesn't love bunnies?!
I've actually had almost 2 weeks off work on holiday, and had such a lot of free blogging time which I completely wasted by not doing a single thing.  Oops!
I have more videos planned for the future, I've began to write down ideas in a little notebook once again.
Organisation helps so much when blogging!

Thanks for reading, and I'd love to hear what you think down below! :)

  1. Lovely advice, dear Amy!! You are so right...your blog should be a reflection of who you are, not an imitation of someone else's!! It's just like making friends...some people will "click" with you, and some will just not be your "type;" but if you're not authentically yourself, the right people will never find their way to you!!
P.S. Definitely want to hear about Peter...I wish him luck for his surgery!! :)

    1. Absolutely! :) There's no fun in pretending to be somebody else, and you'd end up just making it hard for yourself.
And you're in for a treat.. a post about Peter is about to be published! :) x

  2. I know exactly what you mean, I feel really quite fed up with my blog at the moment. I'm taking a break slowly but surely, slowing down my posts a bit over the next few weeks just to take a bit of pressure off, pressure that I somehow have created for myself. It's an odd thing this blogging business!

Glad to hear you're feeling more positive now Amy. I hope Peters op went well :)

    1. It seems everyone has the 'blogger blues' at the moment, doesn't it! I have to keep reminding myself that I don't actually have any deadlines to stick to with my blog - I decide that for myself, haha!
      And thanks Amy! :) x

  3. I love and agree with everything! I delete posts and constantly change things because I look at other blogs and think they are so much better than mine.

Every blog and every post is different and is a reflection of the writer behind it so we should love everything we post!
