Dying my hair!

If you know me personally, you'll know that I used to dye my hair... Probably monthly. I'd always be trying new things, claiming 'this'll be the last time.. I swear!'

Currently, it's still very much blonde, (I'm going to miss it so much!) with my natural roots showing though, as shown further down. (..not going to miss that as much.)

The last time I dyed my hair was about 20 weeks ago, (according to Instagram) I had been quite a light blonde, and put a light reddish/goldish brown over the top in the hope that it would fade to my natural colour eventually. (..and not go green) --->

After a few months passed, my roots began to show, the dye was fading, and it looked like this. The blonde was back - without dye.

 

I actually left my hair like this for a pretty long time, and was glad to be reminded of my natural hair colour poking through at the top... It'd been a good few years since I'd seen this much of it! 

I have a few job interviews and other events coming up pretty soon, so I wanted to make myself a little more presentable, as super long roots aren't a good look for me. It's felt really good giving my hair such a big rest from the dye, and also chopping off a few inches along the way. As I write this, I am sat in my dressing gown with two boxes of hair dye at my feet, trembling nervously. (I don't know why, I've done some really crazy stuff to my hair before!)

So here goes.. I have no idea what's going to happen, and I really hope I've picked out a suitable shade.

Well, I've done it! First of all I applied a red/gold toner over my whole hair, to prevent it from going green or too ashy, as I wanted a rich result. I left this on until my hair looked pretty warm in terms of tone, then applied the two box dyes on top. I used two as I have quite a lot of hair, and I always like to make sure it's completely covered.

I absolutely love the result! It's such a lovely shade of brown, I hope it lasts a while, because I really like it! I also cut in a fringe again, as I was getting bored of growing it out, and it had reached that awkward half-growing-out-half-not stage.
